Not many egrets up in the Great White North yet, so how about some loons.

The skies were overcast, but we found a bay that gave us a good reflection on the water, and saved a few of these shots.

If only it would have been looking at me.

Beautiful shots. Well done clap.gif Love the water droplets on the feathers. Loons are so cool. I like the stealthy low profile when they are in the water. And the eerie call eek7.gif

Good set Dave thumb.gif. Those loons don't seem to be an easy expsoure and it looks like you didn't have a lot of light. Nice work.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Thanks guys.

They were moving in and out of a shaded bay that made the 2 middle shots have good color to the water.
The grey skies made it tough when they moved out of that area.
I'd like to get a another shot at one of these guys feeding again.
    Maybe over the weekend.

    later.

I hope you get some more....I never get tired of Loon photos. I tried a couple summers ago to get a few, but I wasn't successful :cry Maybe this year.

Maybe you could answer this...where do they go in the winter?
