Wasp Queen

Had a good session with a knackered wasp queen. #1 is a 3 shot focus stacked panorama (12 shots in total). Last shot is a simple 3 shot panorama. I did feed it some honey during the session (on the cocktail stick) to help it recover- it eventually flew off about 10 mins after I'd finished shooting.

Love number two - my favourite out of all the series!

I would love to know what goes through their brains when they look at you/the camera.

    Thanks Michelle :)

I suspect this one was just wondering why it did not have enough energy to fly away :)

These are amazing - I really like #2&3. What did you do to keep it still, particularly for a 12 shot panorama?

How physically close did you have to get to the kritter for these?thumb.gif

Number 1 and 3 are my favorit ones in this set.

Have you use focus stacking in all images or some of them are posted as is from camera?

    Regards,

    Sven

    They are amazing creatures
And you do an unparalleled job of capturing them. In #3 it looks like she has a set of hands coming out of her mouth. MM

    Thanks for looking commenting :D
IWTK Focus distance vaireis between 4 " and 1.5" in front of the lens depending on the magnification. This wasp seemed to have run out of energy and was extremely lethargic hence I was able to do the pano shots etc without it moving.
Sven I think #3,4 and 6 were not focus stacked.

Those shots are absolutely remarkable Brian. I loved each and every single one of them. What a pleasant surprise having been away for a couple of days.

Brain, those are great! I like 1 & 2 best, but they are all good. I learned a lot from looking at yours and others shots here and the tutorials posted. Thanks for sharing and helping someone new start. I have even started focus stacking some shot. I have a bug I will upload when I get home that I have no clue what it is but I did try.
