The Tarsier Sanctuary on Bohol Island

The Philippine Tarsier varies from island to island on the few where they still exist to the point where they can
be considered separate species. The name comes from the elongated tarsus bones in the feet and hands. They
are often referred to as, "the worlds smallest monkey." They are tiny, about the size of my hand, and they are
primates, but they are not actually monkeys.
The Tarsier Sanctuary is down at the bottom of the map where the red/yellow star for Loboc River is.

Our first view of the Tarsier

Discounting the tail, about the size of a tangerine

Here in the leaves, the nocturnal eyes are phenominal!

This guy poses real nice with Ashley!

But he gets downright evil with me. LOL

Whereas the ones below are having some quality family time.

Those little needle sharp teeth say, "Don't pet me!"

With what I know now, I would not have put my hand close. Getting upset really effects their health.

One is wide awake, but... His buddy is getting tired.

And these guys just want to play.

They look so different when their eyes are wide open, and when their eyes are slightly closed. Then they start to take on an evil alien appearance!

    Thanks - I enjoyed your photos. :D

That was exactly what I noticed about the one my wife and i posed next to. I was reminded of the movie (Gremlins ?) where the cute cuddly creatures became evil little monsters.
