Dancehall Birthday Party

My wife's uncle turned 70 this weekend and I tried to get some shots. Here were my limitations:

1. Lighting was yuck! Florescents and half of them were flickering. Then when the dancing started...no lights at all.
2. I have a D40 and only an SB-400 flash.
3. I had my kid with me so it was hard to get free for too many shots.

To get around the lighting issue and to get some zoom shots using my 55-200 lense, I used a little invention of mine that allows me to bounce the flash a little further and also to so vertical bounce on the SB-400. I'll post pics of my little invention soon, it comes handy.

C&C welcome!

Here I am using the zoom lense, standing about 20 feet away, using my vertical bounce flasher for the SB-400:

Another example of the vertical bounce, this time with the kiit 18-55 focusing in the near dark (no overhead lights turned on):

Thanks for looking. I hope the pics aren't too big!
