I like #2. Maybe one shot to consider is him sitting in a chair holding the guitar in the 'playing' position and have the pic B&W and the guitar blue...?? Or have him standing and the guitar straped around his shoulders...food for thought.

I think the pp is quite "cheesy" ..

With his artist type hair style and guitar you could definitely have some fun with him. Spice up the lighting, poses, crops, angles..
