i use a d70 and shoot in raw. when working with them in nikon capture, i save back to raw and covert to jpeg when posting on the web. i want to start printing some images, but have no clue what format to save to. please offer what ever advice you may have.

also, i was reading another thread where it mentioned the color setup in the camera. if i use PS CS should i use adobe settings or sRGB or does it matter?

thanks,
Jon

So you open a camera generated RAW file in Capture, tweak it, save it as a new RAW file, and if you're going to web, you generate a JPEG. Is this correct? Do you generate the jpeg's in Capture or in PS CS???

For making prints - are you talking about making prints on your printer from inside photoshop, or are you talking about having prints made by a service?

If you're making prints from inside Photoshop I'd say just open the tweaked RAW file you made with Capture. I would think you could pass straight through the Adobe Camera Raw dialog by accepting all the default settings. For prints made by a service... I've never used one so I'm not the one to ask, but I'd say a good high quality JPEG would be as good as anything.

You also asked about sRGB vs. Adobe RGB. This is topic that shows up around here from time to time. Here's a good post by the boss.

I've switched to doing almost all my work in sRGB. It will work fine for making prints on my Epson, and when I make web images I don't have to change color spaces.
