It's supposed to be a rainy weekend so I took these late this afternoon.

I'm gonna ask, what are you using to diffuse the light on your flash?
    I like your results.

Both flowers are very pretty, love the Red ones clap.gif .... Skippy :D

Thanks for the comments Skippy. Nice to always be able to count on you and Brian, to at least offer comment and help. 40+ views and only your comment makes a person wonder .... (did everyone hate the pictures) Laughing.gifne_nau.gif

As for the flash ... As I keep telling everyone, I have no idea what I am doing! Just taking pictures and having fun, experimenting.

For the flower images I used my 430ex flash with a Sto-Fen OMEW Omni-Bounce Diffuser. I turned the flash slightly upwards and to the side about 45 degrees. It seems to work the best so far (for me) Making due with what I have right now.

Red flowers are always so tough to get sharp! Its the wavelength of the red light that always blows out the sensor. Nice job.
It is the purpose of life that each of us strives to become actually what he is potentially. We should be obsessed with stretching towards that goal through the world we inhabit.

Lovely captures. Think I like the azaleas best- but close thing.

Try doing some comprison shots of flash vs natural light on flowers- although I'm pretty useless on whole flower shots, I normally find natural (shaded) light looks best.
