Santa Barbara Mission
:barb I traveled to Santa Barbara to attend a Workshop hosted by Marc Muench, most of the group is well know here at Dgrin.
anyway, before going on my trip to Santa Barbara i looked at many photography web sites that had photos of the area.
when i came across a gallery of the Mission i instantly knew i wanted to shoot there....
it ended up as a location shoot sunday morning for the group guided by Marc.
The whole gang of photographers did go there on sunday morning but i could not make the meet due to being ill most of the night, i did finally make it to sleep by 4am, and was fine all day sunday.
i was very upset that i missed a great op with the gang.....
but i got a second chance monday morning!
Patherfinder was kind enough to go along with me on a monday morning shoot,
honestly it was a very great experiance for me, Jim is one cool guy!
we traveled to the location in the wee morning hour before sunrise, wow what a trip, we found the site after two or three wide neighborhood searches:D finally a little ol'lady pointed the way.... thanks little ol' lady from Santa Barbara...
note to self, make maps from mapquest in the zoom mode next time.
anyway, here are some of my favs from that morning.
I hope everyone from the workshop can add to this thread, im very interested in seeing each ones own style and take on the Mission.

Great to meet you finally.
I like #2 the most for the depth and details.
Did you notice even at a Catholic Mission Budda appears?
Check the shadow on the peak

Great to meet you and everyone else and to put faces on screen names.
I slept in Monday, but ended up spending about four hours up the street from the mission at the museum. Didn't get any shots- just needed a day off.
Did you make it to Soda Lake?
Having grown up here in Santa Barbara, I find it tough to muster the creative juices and photograph the Mission. However, it is after all, one of the most beautiful buildings around, and your images captured it wonderfully. I am sure with your abundant enthusiasm, minor setbacks like "food poisening" wont hold ya back
I look forward to seeing your work evolve

my personal fav was #7
Really neat series, sorry to hear of your illness, but so glad you were able to continue your shoot.
What a beautiful place, and your images bring all the different looks and feel of the Mission to those that haven't had the pleasure of seeing it in person.
I think quite a few of these would look wonderful in B&W also.

That Blue heron shot is intense- Incredible!
I notice in that one shot I look like I swallowed my car keys or something. I got to smile more often.
