Numbat

I imagine not many of you would have seen or heard of a Numbat. It's the fauna emblem of my state (Western Australia), and is an endangered species. Luckily, the local zoo has quite a successful breeding program.

This was one of my first photos taken with the Nikon 18-200mm VR lens, and I had to use the Sport setting on the D80 to keep focus with this fast-moving little guy. It's also a bit over-sharpened (using the high-pass technique), but he (or she) stood out a lot better that way.

    Thanks for that guys.

BTW - all the post-processing was done in CaptureNX, which I find great for Nikon RAW files.

Excellent capture thumb.gif What you may want to try is to apply the sharpening selectively using a layer mask. Check out this tute

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
