Some shots I took of the calf roping & bull riding portions of this year's Clovis Rodeo. As always CC is greatly appreciated!

tough to get a response out of people sometimes... ne_nau.gif and not many people posting 'horse oriented' shots at the moment either.
I like shot #3 for the action, but it looks a bit dark or too much contrast maybe.

I went to the Houston Rodeo again this year and ended up with some good seats and I plan (hope) to get a few shots finished and posted.

get a little closer and keep shooting thumb.gif

the exposures on these are all a bit rough. plus there is a lot of dead space. looks like you had a pretty short lens. those harsh white walls make auto exposure a nightmare . The last bull shot is my favorite even with the motion blur.

I really like the way the rope looks in number three, but the white wall makes the top of the rope disappear. I think the last shot is the best in regards to pure action - too bad it's out of focus, but it's still cool as is. Tough conditions, for sure - keep 'em coming!

Personally, I like roping shots taken from the front. Then you can see the action isolated from most of the spectators and catch the determination and focus in the face of the cowboy.
