Mumbai
Hi All,
I have been lucky enough to do a few short trips to Mumbai (India) recently, and thought I'd share a few shots. I hadn't been to India before and was amazed when I got there. Mumbai is an assult on your senses - smell, sight, sound, taste, emotions.
Parts of Mumbai can really stink - rubish is often pilled up in areas and left for the trucks to clean up.
The city is sooooo busy - people and cars mixing it up. The women wear their beautiful saris, the colours so bright and vibrant.
The sound of Mumbai is constant beeping of horns - it never stops!
The taste, well there is only one way to describe it - fantastic
The emotion - poverty everywhere - I could't bring myself to photograph it - it didn't feel right.
Here are a few shots I hope you enjoy. C&C welcomed.
1. The Dhobi Ghat laundry.
2.
3. A worker at the Dohbi Ghat.
4. Train Travel
5. Transport.
6. A drink shop.
7. Traffic!
8. Running repairs.
9. Local market.
10. Train travel local style.
11. Phone home..
12. Mad traffic.
13. The start of some great food.
14. The local paper shop.
15. A baber shop.
16. Some local rubbish...
17. The dishes are done!
India is an amazing place. A country of contrast. It was strange to hear that a country with so much poverty can produce 3 out of the top 5 billionaires in the World.

I especially like the photo of the 2 guys repairing the autorickshaw, and the man being shaved in front of the bright red wall.
Definitely looks like a fun trip.
Cheers

Thanks for these. Outstanding shots!
Some locations look familiar - any around the Juhu/Santa Cruz/Lincoln Row area?

Fabulous shots - I'm working in Pune for September and October with the better half, and hoping to get some travel time in to experience the sights, smells and sounds of Inda while we're there...
