I just got the Sigma 70-300mm lens for my d60 and bought the non motorized one thinking it would work. Well I don't have autofocus since I got the wrong one but my question is, does anyone know how to use shutter speed priority with it. My photos turn out extremly dark and I can't manually open up the aperature on the lens. The camera tells me I am unable to do so and to return it to max aperature. Any ways around this?

Hmmm... I am sorry I don't know the answer to your question. However, is there any way you could sell the one you have and get one with the motor?

Well I have looked at that option. I think it is working fine actually and I am just being weird I dunno. Maybe I'll sell it some day. Thanks for the reply.

if you have had the lens less than 30 or 60 days most reputable dealers will exchange + the added cost of the motorized edition......I have returned several lenses in the past for similar mistakes and cause I was still purchasing a more expensive lens ther was NO restock fee for the returned lens......

Call the dealer and ask it can't hurt.....

Hmmm I will have to shoot them an email. I bought it off from ebay but it was a dealer not an individual. Thanks for the idea!
