dgrin challenge 36 is here. it will run from monday, april 4th 2005 at 12:00:01 a.m. nyc time, through monday, april 18th at noon nyc time. the guest judge for the challenge will be the winner of challenge 35, as determined by the voters.
remember, in order for everyone to benefit, you should be commenting and critiquing for others as much as you expect to get for yourself. you've got to give to get!
challenge 36 is about "lit by flashlight" so get out your ray-o-vac, your eveready, your penlight, your "torch" as gubbsie would say.. and let your imagination run wild.
here's an example by my friend peter dumont: he uses a flashlight to make the props in this scene... pretty amazing, eh?
here's a link on using a flashlight for nature photography
jacob riis used a flashight
good article on light painting
and more....
this thread, is the one into which you post your challenge entry, and remember, one entry per person, and the photo must be fresh, taken during the challenge period. you must post the date the photograph was taken or it will be deemed ineligible.
all of the rules of the dgrin photo challenges apply, please read them!.
***challenge 36 will close to entries on monday, arpil 18th, 2005 at 12 noon nyc time***

To find the bluebird of happiness
A favored story
I love that book. It definitely has not stood the test of time, few people seem to have heard of it, and it reads in a way that is definitely not modern. It was written in the late 1800s, as a play, by Maurice Maeterlinck in Belgium.
Georgette Leblanc turned the play into a book for children. The version I have has been edited and arranged for schools of another time. Her version was named "The Children's Blue Bird". Maeterlinck called his play "The Blue Bird".
Hi y'all !
Here is my entry.
Most of you probably allready have seen it , allthough I must say I changed it a bit.
The headlights messed the rest of the picture up a bit, so I tried to assemble a "cleaner" picture.
I also changed the tree to be in one colour only instead of two .
For the overly sensitive among you: The wabbit escaped unharmed .
Bye,
Peter Dumont
