OK...try to have your subject with it's head closer to you than it's butt...centering a subject is basically considered a no-no...in this shot you needed more room over the head and less bellow the feet...getting that glint of light in the eye is important...this shot could have been a little brighter to bring out some of that shadow detail...whew, what a mouth full.
This is not to say your shot is bad...just that it could be much better.
