Ummmm, is the tower actually slanted, or do we have some camera tilt going on here?
The tower is slightly slanted, yes, but I think what you're seeing is a bit of an illusion. I've taken the picture from slightly off-centre of the tower, and the tower is built slightly on the other side of the hill. There is also plain, ordinary lens distortion going on here; could have fixed in PS, but got lazy.
Now that is a sky and the exposure on the castle and grass is nice as well, could be a 2 image HDR?
Thanks.
Incidentally, you caught me; it is a psuedo-HDR from a single RAW.
After posting an HDR here last week and having a few people tell me it didn't look "HDR-ish", I decided to post this one without that small detail, just to see if anyone would notice. I like HDR, but I tend not to like the cartoony images that sometimes arise from that technique. This is a little more subtle, I think.
i have heard 17-40L is not sharp beyond f4 is this true ?
this lens is on my futrue purchase list
Thanks!
This lens is amazing. It is sharp at f/4 on a crop body (only slightly soft in the corners of a FF camera), and gets sharper from there. Virtually no CA to speak of. It stays on my 10D nearly all the time (except when I switch to the 70-200 F4L). I love it. Highly recommended.
Phew... very moody and it avoids all the ugly signs on the museum side
It's a good interpretation of this Tower's bloody history.
Oh yes... and my home town so thanks for the memories
cheers
