How do I add a hyperlink from each page of the galleries back to my website home page to keep things consistant? I have added the "home" icon to the top of the page and would like to be able to hyperlink it to the home page on my website.
I will also need to add the series of links that are currently at the bottom of each of my webpages and add that to each page of the gallery.
I suppose that can be a footer, but what is the HTML code to accomplish this?

    I tried adding that to the heading, but it didn't work. It only moved the home icon down on the page.
    This is what my header looks like. Where exactly do I put <a href='http://www.caloosabirdclub.org'>Caloosa Bird Club</a> ? I tried to put it where the <HREF="index.html"> is in the header.
    <P><CENTER><B><FONT SIZE="+3" FACE="Times"><A HREF="index.html"><IMG

    SRC="file:///C:/Caloosa%20Bird%20Club/HomeIcon.jpg" WIDTH="54" HEIGHT="44" ALIGN="BOTTOM" BORDER="2"

    NATURALSIZEFLAG="3"></A></FONT></B><A NAME="TopOfPage"></A></CENTER></P>

    Links
    At the top of my photoalbum, I have an icon that says "home" . I would like that to point to the home page of my website, www.caloosabirdclub.org. Obviously the member photo link on the home page points to my smug mug gallery.
    Does the code you wrote below do that?

    Still having trouble
    David,
    I have tried adding the code you suggested, but when I click on the "home" hyperlink it goes right back to the home page of my gallery.
    I am trying to allow a viewer to click on the little "home" icon on the top of my page and return to my main website, (www.caloosabirdclub.org) not the photo gallery. Can you help me with that? The code that is in there to obtain the "home" icon is just copied from my website and pasted into the control panel. Do I need to first upload the home jpg icon to smugmug?
    I really appreciate your help. I am just learning this stuff and don't know much about html coding. Probably just enough to be dangerousyelrotflmao.gif

    Eventually, I need to have all the links that show up on the bottom of my web pages show up on the gallery pages too. I personally think that makes the gallery too noisy, but the "boss" says he wants it that way. Laughing.gif

    Alright, let's take this one step at a time. In order to put a link to your home page from the top of a smugmug page, you use the following code:
    <a href="http://www.caloosabirdclub.org">This is a link HOME</a>
    In this code, there are two parts.
    1) inside the quotes, we have told the browser to go to an 'absolute' location, as opposed to a 'relative' location. It is absolute because of the 'http://'; there is no other way of interpreting this. If we had put href="index.htm", this would have told the browser to go to a relative link. this link would only work if the file, 'index.htm' were in the same directory on the same server. Since your smugmug page lives on a different server than your bird page, this kind of link won't work.

    2) the text 'This is a link HOME' is what will show up in the browser. This will work fine for now. Let's try putting the above code in. You can replace the text with any text you like. After we get the text to work, we'll replace it with an image.

    I hope I have helped, not hurt your understanding of html.

    Beverly,
    I couldn't find the "home icon", but the code to do this is very similar to the one you got to work already. All you have to do is replace the text that says "This is a link HOME" with the code that displays the image.

    The code to display your logo will look something like this:
    <img src='http://caloosabird.com/logo.gif' width=25 height=25 alt='home'>

    And the final code would look like this:
    <a href="http://www.caloosabirdclub.org"><img src='http://caloosabird.com/logo.gif' width=25 height=25 alt='home'></a>

    I would suggest first getting the logo to display, and then surround the logo with the <a href...> </a> tag.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks a million, It works!
    I think the last major thing I need to do is to add all the other links that appear at the bottom of each of my web pages (www.caloosabirdclub.org) to the bottom of each gallery page. Personally, I think it looks too busy, but the creator of the web page wants continuity. Would this be a nightmare trying to add all those links?

    It won't be too difficult because you only have to put it in one place, and it will be duplicated on all of your pages.

    Do you want that entire vertical column of links on the left side of your home page to be placed at the bottom of your smugmug page?
