These were shot out doors in the shadow of my house with a black backdrop.

These are nice! They look happy!

If I had to nitpick I would prefer the mom (I'm ASSuming) more out of focus with the child's eyes sharper as the focus point.

I like the even light in #3. I woudl maybe saturate a bit on the color version ... but think you should try putting them into black & white, I am sure they would look gorgeous clap.gif Nice shots.

Thanks for the comments, guys! My monitor lost its calibration, and I've been struggling to get it back to where it was...

I see your point about the saturation on #3, Agnieszka. It feels a bit "pale."

Can I just be honest and say I don't "get" black and white? It's probably because I was raised in a VERY color saturated environment (Central America). So b&w seems so bland. Yet, I've seen some b&w which have been remarkable. I just don't know how to capture that... Any tips?

Here's my attempt at a bw conversion for #3:

I think these will work great in color, however you really have room to make these colors pop. I'm looking at the eyes and the pink on the baby. The first one is lovely. Look at that smile!!

I'm really struggling with getting the colors just right with this trio. The baby is soooo fair. The mommy has such a great cafe au lait tone. Daddy falls in closer to baby. Hints? Tips?

Hi there. I agree, I LOVE strong color photos! I changed the levels a bit in your photo and made it a very light sepia, I hope you don't mind .... Have a look:
