Large Bird by Water

Saw this bird by a manmade creek today. While trying to move in closer he decided to take off so I had to act quick. Unfortunantly every shot wasn't as sharp as I'd like it to be but I am learning! This is the best one I got. Anyone know what kind of bird it is?

    That is a great blue heron, very skittish but very common too. You will probably have more chances to get a better shot. thumb.gif
