Black and White Portrait

I've been practicing! This was with White background, 2 500W hot lights at 3:1 with umbrellas, and a 250W light I scrimmed on her hair to give just a slight highlight.

Her shirt was a hideous green with sparkles, but she insisted. Mom likes the B&W better.

My self critique is that I probably should have rigged a reflector of some sort to clear out the slight shadow under her eyes.

Only post process on this was desaturate color and slight adjustment on contrast and brightness.

    Nice job. On my monitor it looks like it could use some lightening but a beautiful photo.

    b/w is almost as hard to get right as skin tone in color imo. Try the tut on bw conversion.
