This was my first time doing senior portaits, what do you guys think? what should I work on? Thank you in advance for all your suggestions. A few of my favorites.
I for you putting your work out for display. Now my critique!
#1 - tree growing out of her head. Can't see her eyes enough.
#2 - leaves growing out of her head. Dead center, rather boring comp
#3 - more trees out of the head, looks like a cutout almost
#4 - gimicky effect, not pulled off.
Overall - I'd like to see you work more with your subject, it looks like, from this set, that all she did was say "cheese" a lot. Seniors want model, part of this job is to elicit emotion from your senior. The other part is to get imaginative with your compositions.
I agree also with Andy's comments. I would also add that a couple have some blown highlight areas. Overall, I think you could bring much improvement by not centering your subject. All of these appear centered. Try some variations!!!...and make it easier on yourself by finding some not-so-harsh daylight!!
