I have been focusing more on child portrait and would love to here what y'all think. Be critical, you wont hurt my feelings.
One of the kids I shot recently I thought was extra cute...Micah.

1 and 2 really catch my eye. the vertical lines in the deck really pull you in and then the diagonal puts right at the subject, that's great!

there's nothing that I DON'T like about them at all! They all look great, the first two just caught my eye right off.

In the second one I like the fact that the entire picture is light, while her dark hair adds a lot of weight to the top of the frame, balancing out the light and creating a definite object that your eye is immediately drawn to. i also find the composition and shapes used refreshing, how their soft shapes contrast with rigid, uniform ones of their background. she seems to be framed by the diagonal and vertical line of the fence.

You make excellent use of lines in your photos, like in the grass in your last picture and the diagonal line of flowers that he is sitting in #6.

it definitely adds a lot of character and engages my eye!

I really like the fourth photo. My monitor is not calibrated and I've been tagged on the criticism I'm about to give, so take it with a grain of salt - the photos appear a little flat. I might try increasing the contrast and saturation.

His face could be brightened up a bit and darken the background some to give him separation from it. Something like this.

I think the B&W look good but the color images could use a little pop. They look like they were taken in the shade which is good but they could have used a little fill flash. All I did was use a couple quick curves adjustment layers and quick masks.
