ID help needed

Found this in the garden and can't find an ID in my book. Anyone know what this is. I think I've seen them here before. It was between 3/8"-1/2" long.

HI GARY, its a lily beetle. hope you dispatched it!
they will destroy your lillys.
great pics though . the very bright red shells are difficult to expose right.

Thanks Phil for the ID . I don't have any lilies. :cry It was on some weed in the wife's garden.

Amazing colour on these- lovely shots. Wonder what nasty trick they have up their sleeves to get away with being that colour?
