Forest rain

Here's something I shot earlier this year in the Georgia mountains. What's good; what's bad?

    The subject is obvious to me.

    This might work better as a black and white.

    It would have been nice to see the beginning of the fence in focus instead of the little pine tree.

    My point! The fence should be the subject, but isn't quite to the fore!

    Well, next time I suggest saying, "The beginning if the fence should be in focus. It would help us recognize the subject of the photo." Instead of, "What's the subject?."

    A little kindness can go a long way when helping a new photographer.

    Maybe abrupt, but I wouldn't say unkind. Getting him to think about the picture (Socratic mode) can work too.

    Very peaceful, though a bit jumbled. I like the mist and the curve of the fence but I'm not sure about the composition.

    A day like that just celebrates what is beautiful about the forest in wet weather. Hope to see more! thumb.gif
