Hello

This inquiry is a real shot in the dark, but here it goes. I am looking for a serious photography back pack, one that would allow me to do several nights backcountry backpacking. It would need to accommodate all the camping a photography gear.

I was at PMA in Vegas this last march, and found it, well the company who was planning on making it. They had a prototype at the show, it was exactly what I was looking for. I got there contact info at the time and have since lost it!

It was planned for release this summer. For anyone who attended PMA there booth was right next to Lowepro. I have looked at the PMA floor plans and exhibitors, but no luck.

So anyone else who may have stumbled across this pack or knows of another manufacturer who makes something similar, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks, Shane

Was it Mountain Smith......I know they were talking of something along these lines.........I know if it were me I would go for the largest pack I actually need for my camping gear and depending on the cam gear I was taking some like my Military gunbelt system with suspenders....this is a military gunbelt[mine is black} black "H" or "Y" suspenders with a pair of LowePro 75AW toploaders....this carries 2 KM7D with 24-70 / 70-310 both 2.8 and each will hold 10 NP400 batteries in the very bottom pocket......and tons of other stuff....in with the 24-70 I also carry my KM 5600 flash....I have of LowePro neoprene card/battery holders for extra CF cards and AA batteries for the flash.....the suspenders have not cut into my back or shoulders when under any of my actual backpacks for testing.....
    Just a thought..................

Would the Lowepro toploaders easily connect to the front of a regular packback, like a Kelty or Osprey pack? I thought this could be an option as well.

    Thanks, Shane

    I

I am pretty sure they would they have a ton of D-rings straps for shoulder carrying and straps for use as a back/front pack......for me having my gear available for easy access while hiing or Biking(MC:Suzuki) is of paramount importance.....Oh yeah I did fit a 5D with 80-400 (which is larger than my 70-210) into one of my 75AW's for someone else on here several months ago...........

With that kind of arrangement in mind, take a long look at ThinkTank's lineup. I'm now using their modulus system and love it. Kinesis is another similar option.

Mountain Smith was near Lowe. I don't recall seeing what you were looking
for though. MS makes very good quality gear though. So if it was anybody
    at PMA, it was them.
