It's warm again in Indiana....so its time to get back outside and shoot! Had a lot of fun with these two on Sunday. I'm a bit rusty...it's been 6 months since a wedding/engagement shoot. I got a little carried away with the variety:D but hey, it's good to be back!

Let's see ... I think my favorites are:
#2 (very cute smile)
#3 (love it!!)
#4 (love the light! Maybe I would turn the highlights a tint down)
#5 (very cool perspective shot!)
#8 (cute, natural smile, love the light!)
#9 (haha, love it. I always take that shot too. I think my couples think I'm a shoe fanatic - haha)
My Gear
#1 Great kiss...looks genuine.
#3 I love, love, love the processing and all that's going on! It took me a minute to even see the couple, as the colors in the buildings and the cyclist distracted me, but it's a great shot anyway.
#5 and #6 Great perspectives.
#7 Tender moment, looks great in B&W.
#9 Cute and sexy. Looks like he has two loves in his life!
#10 I like the tones in this. Again, lots of emotion.
#11 & 12 At least when you use this kind of processing you don't have to worry too much about skin tones! It is what it is!
Wonderful set and good to see you back in action.
Thank you Agnieszka! I agree she has a great smile! I think you're right about #4, it's a bit hot. I'm glad you like the shoes shot....she bought those to wear on her wedding day this September...please send any fun ideas or examples you have my way!

Thanks Susan for commenting! I think my watermark makes #3 even more busy than it already is...whoops! There were a few without the cyclist but for some reason this one struck me as the most "journalistic" of the series. But I appreciate the vote for the processing...its pushing the limits for sure!
I love perspectives shots, I got a few too many of them probably. But I had rented a 10-22 for this shoot and went a little nuts.
RE: #9...that hot car....is HERS! She rocks. :saurora
I sense you aren't crazy about the skin tones in 11 and 12....go ahead, spit it out! I'm definitely looking for feedback as its a new treatment for me. I can't decide myself!

Awesome lens and you utilized it well.
Then he is really scoring in this marriage!!!
Honestly? I can't quite decide either. Sometimes this type of processing integrates especially well with the subject/scene and other times I'm more aware of the processing itself than the photo as a whole. Am I making any sense? My comment about skin tones was due to the trouble we all have getting them right!!! Let us know what are your clients' favorites of the set. It's an awesome set, and I'm sure they are thrilled.
Do you find when you are processing a set that you end up changing processing because certain shots just don't look as good as others? I try to limit to 2 types for some continuity, but then I stray off the path trying to find what works best!!! I can only imagine what trouble I would get into if I used Lightroom.

Well done Lynne.
Screw the car....they are both lucky to have you as their photographer!

Thank you Heather! I really appreciate your feedback!
Looks like #3 is popular....who knew!? I hope the client likes them, they'll probably wonder why that bicycle guy is there. Thanks evoryware, I always appreciate your take on my work. I bet the wedding wont' allow us to be so creative...trumping the engagement shoot during the hectic wedding day is always a challenge, at least for me!
Thank you Jimmy, I sure hope you're right! Really glad you like the processing, I tried some new things this time! And I appreciate your style comment, its very humbling coming from someone who has cultivated such an awesome style her own. Two thumbs up....can't complain about that review! Thanks Andy for stopping by.
Thank you Aaron! I'm anxious to get that one printed and see what their reaction is! Thanks for the compliments.

Thanks Jeff! I am definitely liking the wide angle shots more now that I have the full gallery. I probably could have done without the 10mm, (and just used the 17mm) but its a nice option to have. When indoors, I bet the 10mm comes in even more handy because "foot-zoom" space is an issue.
I am really quite shocked everyone likes #3 so much. I personally like the PJ feel, but ones I really like are rarely embraced by the client! I posted it on another forum and someone said "it would be great shot if yoi cloned out the bicyclist." Different strokes for sure! We'll see which side of the fence the clients land on.
I appreciate the input on processing....you do such a bang up job, if you say they look good, I will take that to the bank!
And you're being just silly in that last comment! But thanks anyway.

Thanks for your thoughtful input! I think I'm going to print a few and see how I like them vs. on the monitor. I don't want the processing to "scream" out in those shots although I think it does add a lot of drama and intensity, if that makes sense. I have a terrible enough time getting skin tones right with one person in the photo....two people is really tough! Especially coming out of winter and the girls don't want to look as though they've been....out of the sun for 6 months!
I do avoid using more than two "kinds" of color processing for a shoot, to preserve continuity. I also stick to either a true BW or a toned BW for most of the shoot, although sometimes one shot really calls for a sepia or toned BW. I definitely like the shoot to have a good balance of consistency AND variety. This particular shoot was difficult to acheive that balance, but given the multiple locations, I am happy with the results.
As far as LR is concerned....my consistency has INCREASED with its use rather than the other way around. The way you "view" a shoot is far superior than in Photoshop, where its one image at a time, and you can't preview the set as a whole.
you can do it saurora....all the cool kids are.
