Lenspen question

I just picked up a lenspen. In the cap was a piece of (what looked like) cellophane plastic. Sticky on one side, smooth on the other. After the second usage, it "came out" of the cap with the pen... What remains inside the cap looks like a piece of foam.

Did I get a defective unit? Or, is that normal? Also, should I replace the piece of plastic? or..?

There should not be any kind of plastic between the tip of the pen and the "foam circle".

Perhaps yours had a protective plastic cover at first? I have used 3 different brands and they did not have any film cover of any kind... so I think you are safe.

Must have been a protective shipping cover. Thanks for the verification!
