FINALLY got some sun yesterday (though today we're back to clouds and rain... :bang: ), so i went to the park near my house and spotted this little green heron fishing in the shallows. it didn't seem to mind my clicking away as it caught two fat bullfrog tadpoles and three fish in the span of about half an hour... taken from about 15 feet away with 40D, 100-400L @ 285mm, 1/320 @ f/6.3...

warily watching a juvenile bald eagle that was perched up in a cottonwood behind me...

after he decided the eagle wasn't a threat, he went about catching lunch...

all the shot are very good ,exposure and color thumb.gif action clap.gif on the first shot if you would remove the white reed that cross.s the bill it would help the shot ,you did the color right on most jump up on saturation and the greenie looks like eek7.gif

Very nice captures, well done. Nothing wrong with clouds and rain when you can come home with shots like these..clap.gif

thanks, guys... i've been pretty lucky with these little birds, most of my shots of them are from 25 feet away or less... for some reason, they seem less skittish at the park than other places - maybe they're just more accustomed to people there.
