Been looking out for these baby bush crickets for the last few weeks but they appeared yesterday on exactly the same date as last year (10th May). About 5mm body length

I notice that you said you've been keeping an eye out for them, I've actually started keeping a diary of what insect or bug and when/where I got my particular shots. My goal is to be able to fill in everyday of the year - it's good to have goals.
Again, wonderful series.

Thanks Michelle - I'm not that organised but someone else asked me when to expect them so I looked up last years earliest shot . I do know where to find them though (in a bunch of wild Welsh poppies normally).

You know Brian if Bugs can look smart or intelligent,
I think these Bush Crickets do.
I recall one time when I had one inside,
if I moved to the left it tilted its head with camera,
if I moved to the right, it followed that motion too,
almost as if it was ready to take me and my camera on
Are these stacked at all ?
Excellent Series as always from you Brian ... Skippy

did it move and stop? Your macro work is absolutely amazing.

Skippy , there's a little bit of hand stacking in some of them.
Manfr3d - as long as you don't disturb them these guys move around pretty slowly.

Looks like your [FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]crickets are much more cooperative compared to those in my garden.
