Lightroom confusion

Usually I just use LR and export to a saved folder, skipping PS all together. Well today I wanted to export to PS to print out a quick picture. When I went to the dialog to choose export into PS it said it couldn't find it.
I went into preferences and selected PS as the secondary editor and that got it to work for now. Obviously I would rather have LR see PS and export it right away. Also it will only export to PS in TIFF not JPEG, which I prefer.
Any thoughts on what I might have accidentally changed?
Thanks,
Eric

In case anyone here runs into this problem here is the fix:

I followed solution 2, editing the registry, for windows and it fixed it right up.
