older nikon 24-120 3.5-5.6D lens (non VR) what functions wont work using this on a D40? Was using this on a kodak760 I have a buyer interested with a D40 but told him I dont think the lens is very compatible.

According to the chart here:

... you lose AF (you probably figured that.) I think you can use focus confirmation from the electronic rangefinder.

I believe exposure is normal and automatic with that lens on the D40.
