na, just being attentive while belaying another climber. I was focused on the climber and noticed her "down there".

She's Belaying? What type of belaying is it? I also notice she has a webbing harness! Always fun to make :) But still I gotta ask what kind of belaying is she doing and how that system works? Are those static ropes?

    It's a Fireman's Belay, using a rescue-8 belay device.

The rope is tied off at the middle to an anchor points at the top and both ropes are run parallel through the rescue-8 (figure-8 in rapel mode). The belayer only has to pull on both ropes to lockoff the descent of the climber.

It was quite an experience to assemble our own harnesses ( Swiss Harness) and then trust the system/hardware. You also learn, very quickly, how to properly adjust the harness. The harness saying "if it isn't there....it will be" rang very true for some of us!

Here's a shot of the same belayer as a climber in the same gear
