Search criteria too limited

If I want to search for "Canon 5D" or "40D", the search engine eschews "5D" or "40D" or indeed any definite model number short enough to pass beneath its radar. You realise that this means a search for most popular cameras will only bring up results matching the BRAND. Since the Flea Market sections are brand-specific anyway... erm... this just brings up nearly 100% of the posts.

Can't anything be done?
