Place some of your gallery thumbs on your own website

Hey all,

I worked out a quick experiment today using some html, a sprinkling of css, and a few of my own smug mug galleries. If it helps anyone, that's great!

http://www.pixeldustfilms.com/index.php/main/blog/random_smugmug_photos/

It will also help implement random gallery photos, which I know has been discussed before. Mostly, my experiment was about a 2 column, 2 row thumbnail layout using pure css that validates in your browser. Using this simple technique you can feature random gallery thumbs on your own website that layout nicely. Sample code is there.

Thanks, everyone!

Gino

    Neat. But um, color me stupid - where do you specify your Random RSS feed? How does it find the photos to pull in? I didn't think CSS could do that by itself. Do you have some hidden Javascript populating the page?

    This maybe? http://wiki.smugmug.com/display/SmugMug/Random+Photos+Code
    Right-click on any (sub) or category that does not have a featured image and copy the image location.

    Ooooh right -- the random album URL hack. Forgot about that. I've been so caught up in the RSS world, I forgot there's an easy way to get a random image. :-}
