I just picked up a Cloud Light Sphere yesterday. Went out walking around with it mounted on camera, today I am going to try it with the bracket. It seems to work well, even though it was not made specifically for MACRO. If you have seen any other of my post… can you tell a difference? Thanks for any input you may have. MM

Hi there MM .. The Sphere appears to give off very even light on the images you have posted.
They show the same problem other flashes have with reflection on reflective insects
Looks pretty darn good to me, would like to see some extreme Macros to see how that goes MM ... great test shots you've showed us here

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
Only problem with things like this and stofen diffusers is they are very inefficient with the flash which is only a problem if you want to take multiple shots fairly quickly.

That’s exactly what I was thinking about it yesterday. I went out in the middle of the day with it mounted on a bracket. It works but I found myself having to pump up the flash to the max just to get enough fill light. I might try using a couple of paper towels instead of the cap that came with it. I wonder if they will ever make a cap that is not as restrictive.
All and all I think (not super sure yet) I am getting better results with it over my home made diffuser. Thanks for the input Skippy and Brian. MM

I have lived here all my life (42 years) and it took getting my first camera to see what I was missing. MM

then my home made one... but it is a little dark. I am going to try lining the base with foil and then using paper towles on the top...Might try that tonight if I get the chance. MM
