Well almost. My wife and I went to watch our grandsons (pics #3 & #4) play ball today and I took the 30D, the Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 and a 1.4x TC. That gave me 168-420mm f/4. Although I did take the converter off late in the game for some shots through the backstop, I kept it on for most of it.

With the power to reach out and touch somebody, I moved down past the first and third base dugouts so I could shoot the baselines.

475 images in a 4 inning game! smile.gif

Here's a few of them.
Mike

1) Doing the spin in between innings.

2) Pretty good form for a girl! :D Actually, she fields her position well and throws good too.

3) Chris chasing the baserunner back to third.

4) After making it to second base, Angelo is a happy camper!

5) Batter up!

6) And she scores! This was the winning run.

That's the best reason to shoot 475 images in a ball game. So you can get 6 outstanding shots like these.

Ya gotta love T-Ball too. Just for the love of playing a game :D

I've coached youth baseball for about 12 years now and yes, the girl in #2 has excellent form. She's a natural clap.gif

My daughter never played T-ball (lacrosse instead), but if they had had pink baseball gloves back then (as in #1) it mighta been a whole different story! Beautiful faces!

You may not want to hear this (being sports and all) but #4 is one of the most adorable photos I've seen in awhile! :D
