These guys are not out for show. They were all working. The photo is not new, but it is newer than my 1DMII. Can you figure out what is up?

    Nope. Those are not what I think of as work. This was serious stuff with guns ready, not parading or showing unity.

    My Guess:

    Criminal Gang Documentation and Security Threat Group Recognition
    In other words training to provide law enforcement and detention officers with effective investigative methods regarding the documentation of gangs and gang members.

    Reasoning:

    Since the photo is not new and there appears to be no exif-- I don't know how any one could guess. Going from the readable police departments on the motorcycles you can guess the location. Anyways my guess remains that these cops were doing this type of training (gang or riot control) in the Massachusetts area.

    Personally I think it'd be neat to see what the cops on the left are doing. So let's have it, what's going on in the photo.

    The first is in the ball park since there was at least one former president there. It was the 2004 DNC in Boston.

    I drove by those very bikes when they were stationed over by Fanieul Hall and they lined the streets with motorcycles from a lot of different towns doing detail together. It was impressive.
