One from the zoo
Our local zoo seems to be over run with peacocks (and peahens.) The wife and I took a stroll around the park the other day, and here is my favorite.
I have only recently started to shoot in raw with my D200, but it helped me take a blah shot and turn it into this. I never really bothered with raw up until now. I am a linux user and the ufraw plugin for the GIMP is ok, but it wasn't until I found Bibblepro that I really started to fully grasp how much shooting in raw can help. This was processed before I managed to color calibrate my monitor (my Spyder2 arrived today) so the colors aren't perfect, but they still look pretty good after calibration, so I figured I would post it.
Thanks for looking.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
I understand the feeling of deja vu, I looked at the wikipedia article on peafowl, and it looks a lot like my shot flipped left to right!
Harry, yes, I have entered the world of raw, and it should come with a warning; "Here lies great power, but you sure will fill your hard drive quickly!"

Hi Aaron, Beautiful shot. RAW is wonderful, the only way to shoot until you shoot a race or air show and come home with 1000+ photos to weed through and process.. then you have to be ready for some serious office time.
