    Hi Skippy

they really are beautiful creatures, the colours of which you do not really notice until you get right up close.

The shots are the result of 3 different sessions but what was common to all was that they were in amomong the stinging nettles so I got stung to bits - what we go through to get a shot!!

I was particularly pleased with the angle of the first and had to shoot at f11 to try and get him all in focus. That resulted in a shutter of 1/50 so good job he did not move

    Regards

    Hi

Thanks for looking. As you know, with macro the DOF is usually so narrow that it is a struggle to get everything in focus so overall I am quite happy with the result. THe tamron is a great lens

Nice photos...made me think of the quote. "Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup." :D
Canon 40D, stock lens and now a Canon 55mm-250mm f/4-5.6 IS.

Thanks I was quite surprised to capture such a variety. I also got shots of an emerald but unfortunately none were sharp enough
