Hi all,

haven't been posting, nor lurking, for a while.
Some of us still have to get out and toil to buy more the goodies unfortunately:cry :D
Nonetheless, I haven't stopped photographing my favorite subjects.

I'm constantly in awe of all the colors in nature that most of us are fortunate enough to perceive.
The following is my recent attempt at capturing some of that natural beauty.

Enjoy and let me know what you think

    Wow! They are all amazing!thumb.gif

That last one... are them really little trees? Or are you just that much closer to the sun?

You may have been away for awhile, but you sure haven't lost your touch, Russ! Beautiful set of shots! Nice comp and color on the tulips. The baby coot is soooo ugly, you have to love him! Amazing detail and color on the Mandarin. All are great shots, but the one that I find myself getting lost in, is the reflection shot of the water. The colors and textures are really captivating and lovely to linger over. thumb.gif

Thank you very much for your compliment.
The sunset and palmtrees photo was taken with a 500mm lens + 1.4 TC,
this combination helps compress distant subjects making it seem as it they're
closer than they really are. The palmtrees were approximately a half a mile away.

Thanks for your kind comments Susan, I try to practice photography every chance I get.
I agree that the reflection shot does demand more than just a fleeting glance.
This was taken while I was trying to find different angles for photographing the Mandarin duck.
With all the beautiful wildlife at this pond it isn't difficult to overlook a scene as this.

Thanks Chris, it seems like a while since I've posted anything indeed and, ofcourse, checking out all the goings on here.
Although, I must admit, I't's nice to be posting and getting feedback on my efforts and doing the same for others.
BTW, how's the 40D working out for you?

The Mandarin is also one of my favorites.
He gave us quite a show before settling in for a siesta.

You are right there is plenty of tan and brown and a little green here and there. rolleyes1.gif Unfortunately where I live is between two Indian reservations and not the prettiest place in AZ. Makes me appreciate other desert areas and the mountains. :D
