Meandering down a country lane the other day I came across this old cabin.

Looks like they needed two stoves considering the lack of insulation and the space between the boards!

This little guy was very perturbed that I was in his space.

Lots of windows. Must have had a nice view before the forest reclaimed the land.
Looks like a perfect candidate for one of those HGTV Extreme Makeovers.:D

Nice series Jack. Last one seems like it has a green cast to it.

Aren't you glad they don't build houses that way any more.
We really are spoilt, I hit a button on the heater and I get lovely warm air, or I can use the remote.

But I do remember as a child my mother having us all huddle around the open kitchen stove, in our tiny little kitchen, as she tried to dry our shoes, keep us warm, and cook us porridge all at the same time.

It's nice to be reminded of the way things were though.

Thanks for sharing Jack thumb.gif .. Skippy :D

    Thanks Don

You are right about the cast. The lighting was quite different shooting on each side of the wall and I probably forgot to change WB. Should have spent more time in PP.

Actually I had a cabin in the Adirondacks, deep in the woods for many years. Quite rustic not quite this bad but close :D I loved being up there with a nice fire in the wood stove in the winter (although it was also nice to get home to the modern conveniences).
