    while there are definately components of his behavior that are wacky in any circumstance, I don't think jumping 8' between ledges 1,000's of feet high was one of them... there was a ledge not too far below - see this take on the same photos: http://www.snopes.com/photos/natural/canyonleap.asp. Still, don't think it was a smart move... rolleyes1.gif

    Well okay, he might not have plummeted the 1000+ feet it originally looks like. Still, falling from about 3 stories high (my estimate) might not make much of a difference in rocky terrain if you ask me. The guy still risked cracking his skull wide open, and perfoming this stunt in flipflops (if this is true, can't tell by the photos) simply tells me that he's either had one beer too many or fits the description of numbskull just perfectly.... headscratch.gif

    Earlier, they had watched him relaxing and drinking a six-pack of beer as he waited on the rock column for the sun to go down.

    That might have helped in his decision making ability.

    i have been known to be perched in the window of a car going 80+ mph going around the freeway just north of Tulsa Ok USA to get photos of the night skyline......wanting the lights to be stretchie like a long exposure of moving cars.........did not get exactly what I wanted but did get some very cool skyline shots and a ticket:D
