whew...man I'm tired...I passed out my new business postcards in my neighborhood this morning while I walked my dogs. I had a hand full of cards and passed them all out. I walked up and down about only three blocks, but I was done! I may have to pay someone else to do this!

I would appreciate it if you had to the time to see what the card looks like and tell me how I could improve it. I blogged about it this morning. Take a look at it here:

those are very nice!...you done yourself good.

if i could change anything i would not start with the first word as mundane...ne_nau.gif

maybe some more flare with a different font?

btw, i love your photography work!

hmm...thanks for that suggestion. I guess I didn't think that might trip some folks up, but I'm no good at the advertising slogans! rolleyes1.gif

I thought the same thing. Not sure what I'd suggest though...I'm not very good with slogans either. ne_nau.gif

    Overall, very nice clap.gif

You could just swap the words Miraculous or mundane..? It would also capitalize the positive word and provide more impact.

I don't think your contact info has to be as large as the rest of the text. This will also give you more room to play w/ your text and make it pop a bit more.

Big ups on keeping the font simple and effective. Too many people use too many fonts.

I agree......I would infact completely do Miraculous in all caps...
MIRACULOUS or .......mundane .......and in a larger bold font than mundane.........as Socrates (from the Way of the Peaceful Warrior ) states............Thre are no ordinary moments.......as I tell my clients.....doesn't matter what the event.....Everything in life is once in a life time................and should be treated so............Never to be repeated the same ever again.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I really love that...."there are no ordinary moments." would you mind if I borrowed that phrase? bowdown.gif

That phrase is not mine.....it is from the book ("The Way of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman) / movie ("Peaceful Warrior "adapted from the Dan Millman book)

This is mine: Everything in life is once in a life time................and should be treated so............Never to be repeated the same ever again.

Since we are not in the same market area.....heck know I don't care if you use either one or both.......It makes people think about just how important each day {actually each second of each day} really is.

I pretty much wanted to be able to say that I shot just about anything, from casual to formal events. I liked using the alliteration. :D

    Sam

Nice stuff. i looked at your blog to see the ad piece. Interesting way to promote your work. I don't think it would fly in my neighborhood. Too many old fogeys. Denver is a different market than Los Angeles (my huband is from Denver).

I like using color on my pieces to make them pop The text was great but needed some color - but then, that's my brand. ALso you need to track what business comes from that method of promotion to see if it was worthwhile. Perhaps have a code on the card or when you print them change one part so that it gives you a tracking method.

Thanks Sam! That means a great deal to me especially with the kudos coming from you! You were the one that really helped me figure out how to do my PS portrait editing. Now I actually get compliments about my ability to use Photoshop when before I was terrified of even opening the software!

Kat, that's a great idea for me to keep track of sales generated through the postcards. thumb.gif

I got 500 cards for $60 at printsmadeeasy.com but the shipping and handling was very expensive!
