There have been many beautiful Mercedes over the years but, among the competition versions, this car is probably the KING. The lighting on this car was atrocious...I did the best I could.
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

    Howdy,

WOW, what a wonderful car, it must be a dream to own that and be able to take it around the track, at low speeds of course.

At first it reminded me of a Jag D Type, probably the same vintage.

    Nicely Done!!
    Take care,

    Hi Skippy...

Yes, that's a huge steering wheel. It took something of those dimensions to be able to handle this car....no power assist to help the driver. Unless I'm mistaken, this car is owned by Mercedes and resides in their factory museum, except when it is out on a limited tour basis. I'm certain it is considered to be priceless.

A beautiful car Black Mamba...... In 1955 (3) 300 SLR Mercedes were in the 24 hour Le Mans race. One of the Mercedes hit a car in front of him, that catapulted the car into the stans killing 82 spectators. Mercedes withdrew the other cars and didn't race again for 30 years, I think this is correct. I was fifteen.

    Hi Azzaro....

You're correct about the racing event involving the 300 SLR. I personally remember it well. I was 14 at the time and already a bona fide car freak, lived and breathed anything to do with cars.
