Western and Eastern Kingbirds
I am fortunate in that I have both species in my area in the summer although the Western Kingbird is much more common.

and well captured
I don't recall ever seeing any of these here in L.A.
Thanks colfragless. The one on the ground I do like as well. It's different when one is used to seeing these birds in trees or on some sort of man-made perch. Number 7 was in backyard in a hackberry tree.

Thanks Mark. Flycatchers are very colorful in general, but I am not sure what happened to the Eastern Kingbird. It's sort of dull compared to its cousins.

Yup 3rd # 7 do it for me though all are quite nice.

(My real name is John but Jack'll do)
Thanks Russ. I bet if you left the coast and got away from L.A., you'd see the western kingbird.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Mike. They are quite photogenic if only a bit skittish.

Haven't seen as many Kites here this last year. Their habitat makes for good apartments, and condos!
