"Navigated by the Sun"

4am. The little town of Tobermory is still sleeping as I close my hotel door and walk down the steps to meet Andy. We cross the dark forest under the fading blue skies, the grass around us soaked from the morning rain. In the distance we watch what seems the edge of the sky we can almost reach out and touch it, this is now the calling we are after. The break of the day is waiting for us, the pre-dawn pastel pink is our guide drawing us ever closer to Rubha nan Gall lighthouse.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

We walk in silence, drifting away, lost in our thoughts, smelling the morning dew as we reach the silk-like smooth black basalt surrounding the lighthouse. The scene is about to get lit up like a Christmas tree and so I have to let you go, the sun is almost rising….

3 exposures fg, sky and sun. And then masking masking masking. I can't go through all the theory behind my masking methods here; it could turn out to be very time consuming to be explained well. But I will offer very soon workshops both online and on the field that cover in depth these matters (shameless promotion I know <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/eek7.gif" border="0" alt="" > )<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
