Trying my new toy (24 1.4 L for the record :P ) in a 2-shot panorama.

I have three shots of both shots, so considering making a HDR and then making a new pano.

C&C welcome!

Wow...37 hits and not a single response, yay or nay. Almost makes you wonder if its worth the effort. ne_nau.gif

You've managed a great sky exposure without any blowouts...even the lighting on the foreground tree is really good while still maintaining the shadow detail throughout. Was this taken as a horizontal pano? With a sky like that, it almost screams for a vertical pano just to capture more of the spaciousness. Very nicely done.

    Thank you! :)

It was originally taken as a 6 shot pano, with three shots in each position for hdr-purporses, but I decided to go with just 2 shots, an no hdr. I could try to build the 6x3 shot, and see if more sky makes it better!

    Thanks for your input! :)

Hi Ulrik, I think both of these are great. Lots of drama and contrast. In the first, maybe a little too much?

I like the second because the color really adds some extra unf. I like that you can see the snow and details in the mountains but the clouds are inky black. thumb.gif

    Hey!

I've gotten a few comments about a bit too much contrast (especially in the front part) on the first, I guess I should tone it down a notch :)

I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for commenting! (btw: looked like you enjoyed the workshop! I have to save up for the next european one.. :P )

The 1st shot is just too busy with all the tree tops- snow covered mountains and clouds. It is really hard to make anything out. What does this one look like in color?

The color one works a lot better and love the mood it gives off. thumb.gif

Love that second shot. Something about that muted color is so surreal!

I think in color the warm setting sun would really add to the shot.
I'd personally like to see it in color as well.

Thanks for your comments! I'll try to make a decent color version of the BW-one and upload :) I could try to crop off a bit of the bottom too, make it less busy and less centered too.

At first it seems that there was a lot of contrast but what I want to see is shadow detail. you can still have contrast as you should with water and sun. It reminds me of a possible first test print from Ansel Adams. He is the HDR king!:D

That was the best compliment anyone has given me on my photography yet :D

    Thanks!
