In the market for a wide-angle...

I have a D50 (STILL...*sigh*) and I have found myself needing to shoot bands and large wedding parties. My 50 prime just doesn't cut it everytime though somehow I've been getting away with it.

Any recommendations on a fast, (somewhat affordable) wide angle for a D50?

    Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 = $600ish
    Tokina 12-24 f/4 = $500 to $600ish
    Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 = $400 to $500ish
    Nikon 12-24 f/4 = $1200 to $1500ish

I know theres more but that off the top of my head I plan on picking up the 11-16.

I also have a D50, did this with it and the Nikon 20mm f2.8 at ISO 1600, no flash,

You can find one under $500

I think you can also find Tamron and Sigma 17-35mm f2.8-4.5 for around $300 or so as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Now I don't know WHAT to choose. But that 20mm sounds tempting. Do you think that would be good for a large wedding party as well? Should I also consider something that would give me an interesting edge, like a fisheye?

A very good standard zoom that would work well on a Nikon D50 for many/most wedding situations is the Tamron AF 17-50mm, f/2.8 SP XR Di II LD Aspherical [IF].

Well I went a different direction...
I ended up with the AF Zoom Nikkor 24-85mm f/2.8-4.0D and so far it's wonderful and that's without shooting good stuff yet. I know it's after the fact but do any of you have opinons of it? BH users seemed pleased with it.
