Two sales a month and I'd be thrilled to death.

This guy is good and I guess it's a rare car, but jeez!

Maybe if I priced my stuff that high it would generate some buzz/interest/curiousity and mystery :)Laughing.gif Or maybe it would just mean I'd never sell a thing. That's probably the answer.

Well, some would say that those prices are cheap for art, but expensive for photos. Perhaps if you think of your work as art and not photography, you can sell a different product to a different buyer.

Rolex doesn't sell watches. Watches are cheap. Rolex sells luxury and status. No one buys a Rolex to tell time, they buy it so others can see they are successful. There is a lesson in there somewhere I think.

True. I guess that's the thing...are one's photos simply photos...or art? Subjective I suppose. Some may think art, others photos. People probably have a hard time figuring that out for their own photos - just like do you consider yourself a Pro or Amatuer selling a print or two now and then. Some are bold and say they're Pro if they sell anything where others resist the Pro label unless they're making a living at it. For me, I have a hard time calling myself Pro. Maybe some day I'll get to the point where I can sell enough to feel comfortable with a "Part-Time Pro" label. I do sell some...but not enough.

    There sure is...

If you want to tell time, save a couple grand and get a Timex. :D

The second half of your thought falls under the "judging a book by its cover" rule. Assuming someone wearing a Rolex is successful is almost as smart as assuming someone wearing a $10 WalMart special isn't... :D

'Scuse me . . . just 'cause someone hangs a price tag on something, doesn't mean he's EVER sold one at that price. Maybe so, but I'm just makin' an observation.

You're right ... this thread is more about how he is pricing his work, not so much about what he's actually getting for his work, if anything.
