The Adventures of Gabby
My daughter told me she was going to miss me during my trip to the Isle of Mull, and she asked me to bring her old stuffed animal, Gabby, on the trip, so that she and I could be connected.
Here's my daughter with Gabby (note, all images are P&S snapshots):
Gabby ended up being a great addition to the trip. As you can see, she brought lots of smiles, as I got a picture of her with everyone on the trip:
Sarah
Stan
Kathy
Jim
Emmanuel
Sid
Charlie
Kerry
Andy
One of our guides, John. When he saw this he said, "Oh, I've got me cat face on!" (read with northern english accent).

Ready to go!
The Isle of Mull has sheep absolutely everywhere. Except right here, apparently. Gabby is sitting on a sheep fence, but there are none to be seen. Truly rare.
Andy snapped this one at this castle, which is still occuppied. We had the luck of being given permission to walk around on their grounds and take pictures. The great thing about Scotland is that you can actually walk anywhere, by law. Even on private land. But still, right in someone's yard...it's best to get permission.
Sheep roam this beach. But somehow I managed to not capture any once again. I didn't have a whole lot of sheep luck on this trip.
We all loved this house. It has a tree growing out of it. We got yelled at, "Hey, get away from there!" He had no right to kick us off, but with so much to see on the Isle, there really is no sense making a fuss, so we moved on.
Gabby liked the roof on this one.
There's some sheep!
Andy snapped this one with the 8mm fisheye that Schmoo had rented.
As you can see, Gabby is acclimating to the Scottish culture, having bought a kilt. This shot really does not do this oak glen justice. But then again, none of the shots I have of it do. It was a beautiful jumble that I couldn't make sense of, photographically. Times like this I was glad to have Gabby to shoot.
Beautiful cliffs, lotsa sheep, and just a great time to be had here on the shores of Loch Nakeal.

Andy looks like he's grown a fuzzy goiter in his mugshot.
Did your daughter appreciate the series as much as we did?

Yes, and she loves the kilt.

David,
Little things like this really make travel memorable and add to the trip too.
We bought a pink poodle for a trip to French Polynesia and gave it to some friends and we names her Madame Fifi. I outfitted her in all kinds of outfits appropriate to the locations. Fifi ended up in France, Spain, Alaska and England before being given to a little girl. Really fun. Our friend even made a dvd of her.
