Hello everyone!
Please help me with this problem. One of my friends wishes to buy a few photographs and turn them into greeting cards in order to print and sale them.
I have no idea what the charge should be. Would you please give me some ideas? Should I be showing you the photo as well? How does it work?
Thank you very much for your time. :bow
ps: I did do a search here, but, I didn't find anything similar to this. :scratch
ps2: I just found out what stock photos are and I am shocked at the prices they pay for some professional photos. What a rip off! :huh

so, what is the bottomless line mind your own business? Have not sold anything I made before.

I make cards with images that I have taken and sell them. I have them printed via a lab and then I sell them in sets.
If I sell them customized, like for an invitation I sell them for $7.50 each.
They are 5x7 and I charge a portrait sitting fee for the shoot.
If they are my own design and being sold in a set (I put 6 in a set), the set is $18.00. I package them in organza drawstring bags.
If someone were buying prints from me to hand make greeting cards, I would have a contract signed limiting the use to "X" number of cards and if they were being sold, I would want some money per print. If I were giving her a digital file, I would make sure it was signed with my copyright on the image. All of my above cards have copyright info on them as well as my logo and website info.

If you don't mind, which lab do you use?
I understand about copy right, but I don't know how much to ask for per image still, although you mention, Portrait sitting fee for the shoot. In my shots there was no one to portrait sit. I don't know any type fees..again thank you for your input.
